Do The Mind’s GPS Cells Position, Navigate, Remember and Repeat Insanity?

brainThe following headline captured my attention.

Nobel Prize in Medicine awarded for discovery of brain’s ‘GPS’

Scientists have discovered cells that mark our position, navigate where we are going, and help us remember it all so we can repeat our trips.

Three thoughts:

  1.  It would be helpful if the scientists add in the most important bit; WHY are we going where we are going?
  2.  “Navigate where we are going, and help us remember it all so we can repeat our trips” – doesn’t this sound like the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.
  3.  I am not my brain.
