Self-Compassion; The Missing Link To Achieving Your 2018 Goals – GAMA LAMP Conference March 11-14, 2018, Nashville, TN

self compassion

Vision, Plan, Goals, Marketing, Sales, Clients, Customer Service, Time Management, Team, Delegation, Family, Friends; What about YOU?

This blog is one of a series of blogs that relates to a speaking presentation that I am giving at the GAMA LAMP Conference March 11-14, 2018, in Nashville, TN: Becoming a Compassionate, Inspirational Leader and Manager.

You are thinking and giving all day long; the missing link to achieving and sustaining your long-term goals is getting out of your head and into your heart.

Here is a list of Self-Compassion practices;

  • Stop thinking of self-compassion as self-indulgence
  • Start small with simple acts of self-care
  • Express gratitude
  • Write a letter to yourself and read it out loud
  • Let go of external approval
  • Foster acceptance
  • Don’t give in to the internal critic – change your internal dialogue
  • Speak and think kindly of yourself
  • Give yourself permission to be human and flawed
  • Interrupt rumination by refocusing
  • Avoid judgments and assumptions
  • Don’t be too strict with yourself; don’t be overindulgent
  • Our flaws and setbacks should connect us, not divide us
  • Forgive yourself for making mistakes
  • Be open to possibilities
  • Meditate
  • Practice mindfulness – a state of nonjudgmental awareness
  • Spend time doing things you enjoy
  • Find common ground with others – create connections
  • Remember you are not alone
  • Don’t lose faith in your potential
  • Nurturing self-compassion is tough on your own; find a supportive coach

Simon Reilly has a true gift of interacting with people, using his intuition to pick up every detail. I look forward to our one on one coaching sessions simply knowing he will be on the other end of the phone truly driving growth in my business and life. I knew there would be some paperwork with the coaching but I did not expect the depth and volume of the assignments to truly move me forward. I have clearly enjoyed Simon’s coaching program and will be a proponent now and in the future for anyone looking to meet and exceed their goals.
