Here’s the 22 points that I know for sure about social media:

  1. Social media will help you find your voice
  2. Social media is about why; values, vision, purpose, mission
  3. Values are why you do what you to
    • Vision is what you see as possible for others
    • Purpose is why you are here
    • Mission is what you’re here to do
  4. Creating your mission will help you to identify your brand, tagline and unique selling proposition
  5. Become familiar with up-to-date information management tools that include Dragon dictation, ever note, live scribe all preferably integrated with and iPhone or iPad
  6. Higher a social media virtual assistant
  7. Delegate the to dos, but not the message
  8. Create professional looking pages on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter with a picture and make the bio about your business
  9. Use HootSuite it’s a real timesaver allowing you to post to Facebook LinkedIn and Twitter all the same time
  10. Create a social media time management plan and engage with social media not 24 and seven but one afternoon and one morning a week, you don’t want to be looking like a social media junkie
  11. Block time to create your social media content to be able to create a consistent message
  12. Find your writing, podcast or vlog content by asking your clients the following three questions; what you like best about working with me, would have you received from working with me that you didn’t expect and what are the three improvement s that I have helped you to create
  13. Find your writing, podcast or vlog voice by taking a public speaking course
  14. Know where your clients are hanging out in either Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter, your clients are not hanging out there don’t hang out there
  15. Learn the fundamentals of the Twitter that include hash tags re-tweets direct message etc.
  16. Put your social media addresses for Facebook LinkedIn and Twitter on your business cards and website
  17. This is my preference but don’t engage in business social media on the weekend it doesn’t look like you’ve got a life
  18. While people’s learning strategy is changing to listening and watching,  blogging is a great way to find your voice, there is an expression what you practice in private you are reward in public
  19. Join groups on Facebook LinkedIn and Twitter and join the conversation
  20. Get that there is no social media overnight sensation to quote Jim Rohn success is a few simple disciplines practiced every single day
  21. Get that social media is a social tool it’s not a sales marketing tool
  22. To quote Dr. Seuss be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind
