Financial Advisor Speaker Insurance – Don’t Leave Home Without It!

Of course I have life insurance and I would be a fool to leave home without it racking up 500 – 1000 plane flights in the last 7 years.
I’m talking about another kind of insurance to prevent picking up a bug while travelling through airports and planes.

My Loftier Goals

My February 15th blog Stop Thinking And Think Bigger talks about our holiday caused me to stop thinking and as a result my vision has expanded tenfold since our return. My Stop Thinking And Think Bigger February 15th Blog ended with; “Instead of the void being filled with routine thinking, space was made available for even loftier goals than I had written in our 2012 One Page Business Plan. I’ll share my new loftier goals in an upcoming blog. It isn’t important to know how these goals will become a reality, just that they get written down.”
Sailing in The British Virgin Islands on February 6th headed back to Sopers’s Hole on Tortola.

In previous years, I have done as many as 32 financial advisor speaking dates and with 8 financial advisor speaking dates confirmed, we are already up to 25% of our financial advisor speaking dates goal.
Laura and I are using DropBox to track the Tentative Speaking Dates as they come in so that we don’t overbook ourselves and we just ran into a situation this morning where we have two clients looking for the same date in March.

Are You Complaining About The Prospect That Got Away?

It is Wednesday morning, November 2nd and a day of delayed gratification in a Toronto hotel room with a late 3pm check out because of an honours card from Radisson Hotels in advance of a 5pm ET flight to Nanaimo via Vancouver. Everyone is still sleeping on the West Coast.
I’m listening to the soothing sounds of Oceanwaves 2 on my iPhone coming from the Brainwave App while working on a 2012 web site upgrade.
The website upgrade has to do with re-focusing the site from one on one coaching to webinars, workshops, one on one telephone coaching and one on one live coaching because that is what is going on behind the scenes of the website so I am bring it all to the light of day.
I’m next door to the Toronto Congress Center where I spoke on Tuesday, November 1st at the Independent Financial Brokers Summit and I could go over to the second day of the conference and attend speaking events & network at the trade show on the off chance that I will connect with someone.
Instead I am using a rare day with zero interruptions to work on finishing the web update that have been sitting 95% complete since the end of August when the fall speaking season hit with financial advisor speaking presentations in Las Vegas, Washington, DC, Ottawa, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Halifax, Kananaskis and now Toronto.
Today, you could say that I am taking care of the needs of the many through the updated website for 2012 versus the needs of the one or two whom I may have connected with at the conference.
One has to have boundaries and I’m choosing to remember that I had a standing room only audience of 250+ attendees yesterday which is between 25 – 33% of the attendees of the entire conference and here is a picture of the audience 5 minutes before show time.
The truth is, the attendees of the Independent Financial Brokers Summit that wanted to talk with me attended my One Page Business Plan speaking presentation and would have submitted an expression of interest so there isn’t any sense in investing the time for an off chance conversation. One can always complain about the one that got away.
