They Call It Fall For A Reason

Here is an outstanding article by Diane Frances from the September 15, 2009 Financial Post ; They Call It Fall For A Reason
I took the liberty to post this excerpt;
So, like Job in the Old Testament, I prefer to keep my faith in optimism on the basis that when everybody is thinking along the same lines, and the press is fiercely amplifying that group think, the opposite result is much more likely.
Diane Frances, Financial Post – September 15, 2009
My September 16th, 2009 Advocis North Bay Clear Your Roadblocks financial advisor speaking presentation went exceptionally well and the new wireless microphone worked perfectly.
Here are a few of the financial advisor speaking testimonials;
“This was not another motivational seminar. Simon talked about the core strengths and values needed to be successful; not just in life but in business as well.”
Ryan McMillan, SunLife Financial
“Outstanding presentation, its like Simon knew my office and its needs.
Debbie Deerins, Freedom 55 Financial
“You call it like it is: getting to the root of your issues. Your candor is very refreshing.”
Craig Ash, SunLife Financial

An incredibly busy day on Tuesday, September 15th with client calls and e-mails … sitting on a plane all day Monday took its toll. While the coaching calls and e-mails all went well I have been challenged with computer software and internet connection challenges all day hence this test for the new wireless microphone in this clip.
I’m speaking at Advocis North Bay, Ontario on Wednesday, September 15th, investing a few hours of hotel office time and then flying to Kingston, Ontario where I will be speaking at Advocis Kingston on Thursday afternoon.

On Staycation Till September 8th!
August 28, 2009 by Simon · Leave a Comment
Whew! We are headed off to Quadra Island for a bit of a fake staycation after one of the most productive creative months that we have ever had. I call it a fake staycation because we are just going an hour or so down the road and that is the cool thing about Vancouver Island, you are no more than an hour a way from an island get-a-way, without getting on a plane.
The financial advisor speaking and investment advisor speaking phone is starting to ring and we have loads of speaking gigs coming in for the fall.
We have launched the Free Digital Coaching Offer and financial advisors and investment advisors are joining as we speak. We are about to surpass the original offering of 20 financial advisors and investment advisors and I am going to keep the door open for 40 financial advisors and investment advisors and this is because 10 – 15 will register and will not follow through with the assignments.
On the writing front, articles have been submitted for the fall to Advisor.ca.
I’ve completed my submission to the invitation to speak at the MDRT in Vancouver for 2010.
I’ve started working on the Vlogs to create a stronger presence on UTube.
The Clear Your Roadblocks Private Web Site for participants of The Clear Your Roadblocks One Day Workshop and The Clear Your Roadblocks Coaching GYM Program is nearlly finished!!
We have a financial advisor speaking and investment advisor speaking campaign that is nearing completion to send out to members of IIROC and the MFDA.
All of this sets that stage to build a Digital Coaching Program / Distance Learning for The Clear Your Roadblocks One Day Workshop and The Clear Your Roadblocks Coaching GYM Program.
We are looking forward to starting September 8th with Tiffany, our new Administrative Assistant.
Have a great week.
Every Day Is A Presentation, Just Like The MDRT
August 21, 2009 by Simon · Leave a Comment
I just reflecting that whether I’m coaching, speaking or writing, every one of these is a presentation in some way shape or form.
Coaching includes reading the notes from a previous conversation, Speaking can include an interview with the Advocis Chapter President or Advocis Program Chair in advance of speaking at an Advocis Chapter to find out what the audience wants to hear about and Writing can include writing out a description of a speaking presentation.
It’s 7:45am Thursday, August 20th and I’m sharing what I am doing to qualify to speak at the MDRT in Vancouver in June 2010.
There are many qualification steps to speak at the MDRT and I have been suggested as a potential speaker and this was created by way of a referral which had to pass through a committee to get to the place that I am in right now in the process.
The next steps include a telephone interview with The Program Committee Captain which is today at 1pm.
The interview is to discuss my interest, a discussion of my proposed presentation and to answer any question that I may have.
I have not spoken since June 17th so here are my notes to help me to get focused on the presentation that I would like to offer to the MDRT.
Clear Your Roadblocks
Tag Lines;
- Increase Your Referrals By 1000%
- Understand and Eliminate The Plateauing Out Syndrome
- Attract More High Net Worth Clients With Less Effort
Positioning Statements
- Most people do not know what their values are
- Values are what pull you forward, ignite your passion and your vision, plan and goals
- Many advisors have no written vision, business plan, marketing plan or goals
- Many advisors agree that asking for referrals is the best way to build their business
- A survey indicated that 10 – 15% of advisors actually ask for referrals
Why?
- Advisors and others suffer from The Unmet Needs Disease
- When one has Unmet Needs, they have Negative Beliefs and Negative Emotions
- The Unmet Need of approval is the Roadblock that prevents an advisor from asking for a referral and fuels Negative Beliefs like “the client may say no” or “I might make a mistake with the referral and I may lose the client as a result” and these in turn fuel Negative Emotions like anxiety and fear.
Values are like turtles, they only come out when it is safe. Unmet Needs not only fuel Negative Beliefs and Negative Emotions; Unmet Needs will eventually sabotage values, vision, plans and goals.
The Clear Your Roadblocks presentation helps advisors to understand and clear their Unmet Needs, Negative Beliefs and Negative Emotions and gives them the strategies to;
- Redefine their Values
- Create a Vision
- Set 90 Day Goals
- Maximize Time
- Empower Their Teams
- Delegate More
- Attract High Net Worth Clients
- Ask for and receive Referrals
- Create a Brand
- Focus on A Niche Market
- Receive Testimonials
- Increase Their Sales By 25%
- Ignite their Passion & Inspiration like never before
